The MG Cyberster GT has a reported range up to 270 miles and the vehicle has a Type 2 socket. All of the Type 2 charging cables up to 22kW listed below are compatible for charging all models of the MG Cyberster. The maximum charging speed when connected to an AC charging point is 7.4kW. It is fine to use a 7KW, 11kW or 22kW charging cable or charger because an EV will not accept more than its battery capacity or draw more current than is available from the power supply.
Which is the best Mode 3 Type 2 to Type 2 32A charging cable for the MG Cyberster?
We recommend the 1 Phase 32A charging cable for charging the MG Cyberster at a public charging point or home wall box. However, you can also use the 3 Phase 32A charging cable, but it will only charge the EV at the same rate.
Which 3 pin charger is recommended for charging the MG Cyberster with a 13A UK plug?
If you require a 3 pin charger (also known as Mode 2, home charger and granny charger) for charging the MG Cyberster with a 13A 230V home / mains socket, we recommend our adjustable 6A 8A 10A 3 pin charger for regular charging. The fixed 10A 3 pin charger is not recommended to use for more than a few hours with an outlet that has not been certified as suitable for regular EV charging. The fixed 10A charger might also require a Type B RCD to be fitted in your consumer unit / fuse board. The adjustable 6A 8A 10A 3 pin charger has Type B protection built in.
Can I charge a MG Cyberster with a Commando socket?
If your premises has a Commando socket, or you want to charge your vehicle at a location that has one, such as a campsite or marina, then we have a selection of 1 Phase and 3 Phase CEE chargers to fit all 3 pin and 5 pin CEE sockets. The CEE socket may be 1 Phase 16A or 32A or 3 phase 16A or 32A. So please check before you buy. We also sell a multi adapter charger that can be used to charge the MG Cyberster with both 3 Phase (red) 16A (11kW) and 32A (22kW) CEE sockets and both 1 Phase (blue) 16A (3.7kW) and 32A (7.4kW) CEE sockets.
Which charging cables are included with the MG Cyberster?
The information we have states that there is a Type 2 to 3 pin charger supplied with the MG Cyberster. From experience, we know that this information can change. Even when a cable does not come factory supplied with the EV, the dealer / seller still might provide one anyway or the manufacturer may stop including a cable as standard. The best way to be certain is to contact your dealer / seller to confirm which charging cable(s) are supplied with the vehicle.

Charging times are approximate due to the variables that can influence the charging times. To date, all MG models manufactured in Europe have an AC Type 2 socket.
This is a guide only and the charging times and charging capacity depend upon the model and battery capacity of your electric vehicle as well as the charging capacity of the charging point. A charging cable described as 3kW has a maximum charge of 3.7kW. A charging cable described as 7kW has a maximum charge of 7.4kW. The EV cables below are not manufactured by MG. However, all the cables below are compatible with your EV. Please read your vehicle handbook. The recommended Type 2 to Type 2 Mode 3 charging cable is based on the EV cable that provides the fastest possible charge when using both a 1 Phase 32A and 3 Phase 32A charging station. This information is subject to change. If the AC onboard charger (OBC) of your vehicle is above 7.4kW then the 3 Phase 32A cable is always recommended.
