The Type 2 to CEE chargers listed below are compatible with all Type 2 socket EV’s. The term CEE and Commando can be used interchangeably to describe the charger and socket. The charger is also known as an industrial socket charger and 11kw or 22kW charger.
Which Commando Charger Should I Buy?
The Type 2 to CEE / Commando charger that you purchase is dependent on the type of CEE / Commando socket.
You will first need to know if the socket is 1 Phase or 3 Phase. This can be identified in one of two ways. By the colour, or the number of holes in the socket. A 1 Phase CEE / Commando socket is usually blue and will always have 3 holes. A 3 Phase CEE / Commando socket is usually red and will always have 5 holes.
You will then need to determine the amp rating of the socket. The amp rating will either be 16A or 32A and this information can be found on the socket or the cover of the socket. If you are still not sure, contact us with a photo of the socket and the cover of the socket.
Please note that if you purchase a 32A 3 Phase CEE charger, for example, although the charger can provide up to 22kW, your vehicle will only accept the maximum current of its Onboard charger. So if your vehicle can accept 3kW, the vehcile will only draw 3kW from the charger.
You can select a Type 2 to CEE charger from the list below. If you are not sure if your EV has a Type 2 socket, select the make and model of your vehicle below to view a list of compatible chargers for your EV.
