Our Type 2 charging cables are designed for use with Type 2 socket wall chargers, Type 2 socket public charging stations, 13A sockets for home charging (16A Schuko for mainland Europe), or any CEE / Commando socket. The EV cables and chargers below are compatible with all Type 2 socket EVs. If you want to know if your EV is compatible with a Type 2 cable, use the EV Cable Finder below to read more information about your vehicle
Which Charging Cable Is The Best Fit For My EV?
Your electric vehicle will have an AC onboard charger that will usually be around 3kW, 7kW, 11kW or 22kW and this will allow you to determine which cable is the best fit for your EV. If you’re planning to charge your vehicle using a Type 2 socket wall charger or public charging point, here’s a general rule of thumb: if your vehicle charges between 3kW to 7.4kW, we recommend using the 1 Phase 32A cable. For vehicles that can charge over 7.4kW, the 3 Phase 32A cable is recommended.
If you wish to purchase a charger for charging at home or at any mains socket (13A UK or 16A Schuko), we recommend the Type 2, 3 pin charger where the amp can be adjusted to 6A, 8A and 10A.
Charging your Type 2 socket EV with a CEE / Commando charger depends on the socket. You will therefore have to select the charger that will fit the Commando socket. The socket will have 3 holes if the socket is 1 Phase or 5 holes if it is 3 Phase. The socket will either be 16A or 32A and this will usually be stated on the socket, but you can always contact us and send a a photo of the socket.
