Charge Your EV Using A Single Charger That Can Connect To 32A And 16A CEE And 13A Mains Sockets
The Type 2 universal EV charger can charge 1 Phase and 3 Phase, allowing a maximum current of up to 22kW. The adapters that are available to buy for this charger will allow one device to charge an EV with the following power outlets:
3 Phase 32A CEE (Commando) 5 pin socket
3 Phase 16A CEE (Commando) 5 pin socket
1 Phase 32A CEE (Commando) 3 pin socket
1 Phase 16A CEE (Commando) 3 pin socket
13A UK 3 pin socket
16A Euro 2 pin socket
Regardless of whether the power socket supplies more current than the EV can accept, it is the vehicle that determines the maximum current it draws from the EV charger. So, if your Type 2 socket EV accepts between 3kW to 22kW, you can use this charger. If your EV has a CCS socket then your vehicle will have AC capacity and DC capacity. The DC capacity of an EV is between 50kW and 350kW, but this only relates to using a DC supply.
The multi-adapter charger offers variable current, so your EV can be charged at 1 Phase or 3 Phase power with options of 6A, 8A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 24A, or 32A. This universal multi-adapter charger is therefore compatible with (solar panel, Photovoltaic) PV Systems. The device also retains the chosen setting for subsequent EV charges.
Is This 32A Universal EV Charger Suitable For My EV / PHEV?
Is This The Right Charger For My EV
The EV must have a Type 2 socket to use this charger. The majority of electric vehicles sold in Europe have a Type 2 socket. The vehicle will either have a 7 hole socket for AC charging, or a 9 hole CCS socket. CCS stands for Combined Charging Socket because it combines the sockets required for AC and DC charging. The Type 2 cable is designed to fit into the 7-hole upper chamber of the CCS socket. So if your vehicle socket has 7 holes or 9 holes, it is Type 2.
If you are still not sure, click the button below to locate your EV / PHEV and this will confirm if your vehicle is Type 2. Please also check the information at the top of this page, “Please Read Before You Buy”, to help avoid the most common reasons for returning a charging cable.
We advise that the electrical socket and supply that is used to charge an EV will need to have been checked by an electrician to make sure that it is suitable for charging an EV for long periods and at variable currents.

Multi Adapters
The adapters that are available for this multi socket charger allows an EV to be charged from all 5 pin and 3 pin 32A and 16A CEE sockets. There are also adapters for charging an EV with a 3 pin 13A UK (Type G) socket and 2 pin 16A Euro (Type F) socket. The charger will detect the voltage of the power supply so it will auto switch to 1 Phase or 3 Phase power.
This universal charger connects your EV to the most common AC power supplies in the UK and mainland Europe. Therefore, you can charge your EV using a hookup at holiday parks, campsites or caravan parks. Or, charge your EV at a marina, workplace, or on holiday in Europe.
When using this 32A charger with the adapter / power outlets displayed in the table below, the charger will provide the following maximum currents:
Adapter & Outlet | Max kW |
---|---|
3 Phase CEE 32A | 22kW |
3 Phase CEE 16A | 11kW |
1 Phase CEE 32A | 7,4kW |
1 Phase CEE 16A | 3,7kW |
UK 13A | 2,2kW |
Schuko 16A | 3,7kW |
Please note that the multi-adapter charger can only be set to 10A when using the 13A mains plug. The Schuko adapter is only to be used with the 2 pin Euro (Schuko / Type F) socket.
The maximum current displayed in the above table will not necessarily be the current that the EV / PHEV will accept. That is, the vehicle will only accept up to the maximum AC current of its onboard charger (OBC).
EV Cable Case
This multi adapter charger includes a complimentary EVA cable case, allowing for safe storage of your charger and adapters. The case has an elasticated strap in the bottom compartment and elasticated mesh pocket in the top, providing convenient storage of your charger and up to 5 adapters.
